Information Technology (IT) is a powerful competitive
edge of VICT. We are the first in Vietnam to apply all
computer-aided operations and management at the terminal
to achieve the rapidity, accuracy in sharing and processing
information and data, as well as to minimize human errors.
VICT is also the pioneer and the only container
terminal in Vietnam so far to apply Electronic Data Interchange
(EDI) in communication data exchange with its shipping lines.
Terminal Management System (TMS) is specially designed to
perfectly suit the Vietnam's conditions and effectively hardness
the advantages of IT and EDI in shipping and terminal operation
and management. TMS is the core of our Port Information Center
in the future.
Beside, VICT has been developed Wireless
Hand-held system for real-time Yard Management. This system
is robust, real-time solutions enable VICT to maximize yard
space utilization, and eliminate unproductive container
moves and equipment idle time. This in turn results in
reduced harbor fees, improved container location accuracy,
and reduced loading and unloading times. VICT is the first
Terminal in Vietnam applied this system.
